[RP] Just Another Day

It was just like any other typical day in the city; the sun shining, the hustle and bustle of the crowds never ending- it was just another day.

In the waves of the crowd, a girl stood out, looking confused about her surrounding; turning and pacing about in a small area in the park’s main entry. She looked at the numerous people that passed by her, sighing at every face she found unfamiliar. Minutes gone by and she walked about restless, checking her clock every now and then, seemingly expecting someone rather later to meet her company.

Withdrawing her umbrella over her shoulder, she closed it shut and locked the clasp, stomping the metal tip on the dry ground, muttering words under her breath.

“He’s late,” she said, frowning for the hundredth time as she checked her wristwatch for the time.

“Give it another five minutes,” the girl cooed, forcing a smile on her lips, folding her arms together as she leaned against the arch post, anxiously waiting.

"Dam it," Jim said as he ran through the crowds. He looked at his watch and started to run even faster. "Son of a," he cursed as he almost caused a person on a bike to fall. Jim stoped for a little and looked up at the street sign. It all looked like scribbles to him. Feeling sweat form on his brow, he wiped it with his left hand and started running again.

He turned left and found a girl standing in the street. She looked worried and angry at the same time. "Shit I really did it this time," Jim said as he started to walk over to her. He gulped and pulled on his collar as he walked closer. "Hey Aruka," he smiled," Sorry I am late, I just couldn't seem to find where I was going."

Aruka’s brow twitched, as Jim walked over to her. She can’t believe he was twenty-minutes late for their date- to think she even let off five minutes for her to arrive so she’d be the one fashionably late, but no, he had to make her wait.

Gripping the umbrella’s handle tight, she swatted it lightly on his arm, looking at him with a furious glare, “you should’ve known better to leave home early ‘coz you’re new here, but no, you had to make me wait for twenty whole stupid minutes.”

Harrumphing her back to him, Aruka began to walk to the entrance indignantly, making it known that she was quite upset over the matter.

Jim looked at Aruka, "I am sorry, very sorry." Jim walked into the entrance with her and grabbed something in his pocket. "Part of the reason I was late," he stumbled, "is that i got these for ya." He pulled out two violet roses that were in perfect condition. "It kind of took me a while to get the store owner to sell these to me," he laughed as he walked up to the counter and paid for the tickets. "But anyways, I hope you like them."

Aruka eyed the roses for a good moment, touching the petals gently while Jim went to pay for their tickets. It was thoughtful of him to get him the flowers, and it made her smile a little as she looked back at him turning back to her.

“I guess it’s a good excuse then,” she pouted, taking her arm to cling against his, looking back and away in his eyes.

“You’re forgiven,” she sighed, and smiled once more, admiring the two beautiful blooms that he had made so much effort to give her.

Jim looked at the card and pointed to the movie theater 4. He walked down the stairs with Aruka in his arms. He stopped in the middle and pointed to some seats that were in the middle. They went through the aisle and sat down. "I hope you like this movie," he said, " I knew you wanted to see it."

Aruka made a quick nod, assuming a seat at Jim’s right as the movie began. Unlike other girls who’d get freaked out or snuggle close to their date while watching a thriller flick, Aruka was quite cool about it, calmly viewing the wide movie screen before her, avidly watching the gruesome intro.

“Eww,” her eyes squinted at the scene where one of the actor’s entrails was pulled out sadistically. Aruka rested her face on her palm right next to Jim, while in the movie scene, a girl was brutally attacked as the story went on into a couple of scenes with bloody murder.

Jim looked at the screen in shock. I guess thats what it would look like if you had your head ripped off by a monkey, he thought. He looked at Aruka and saw that she was trying to hide her face a little from the movie. He looked back up at the screen and kind of turned pale, as the villian poked another actors eyes out and ate both of them.

Acting a little cool, Jim sat comfortably in the chair and streched his right arm on arukas chair. He leaned over, "Hey are you ok?"

Turning her head up to see Jim, Aruka smiled and pulled herself closer, leaning her head against his shoulder.

“Yeah, it’s just that I wasn’t expecting this much, I guess.” She explained, pointing her right index towards the screen, “it’s actually good though, just a tad bit disgusting.”

As the next scenes rolled, the movie was more lax and less horrifying with the actors searching the old house for their comrades. Aruka however felt a shiver run down her spine as the cool air of the theater began to sink in her skin. Crossing her arms together, she made an attempt to warm herself up, rubbing either sides for warmth as her skin began to prickle from the cold.

"Geschaft!," Jim thought as Aruka pulled herself in closer and even sat her head on his shoulder. He felt the air conditioner kick on and he could see out of the corner of his eye Aruka warming herself up. Lifting his hand up, he took off his green jacket and said, "Here take this. It will warm you up."
