Aruka cautiously hid behind Hikaru's back. She felt someone's presence lingering around, but the aura was faint, or weak. She couldn't make out where it was coming from, but it was insignificant. It wasn't a monster like anyone feared; or so, the people she came across with feared.

"Hikaru-chan,"

She whispered, her eyes watching every single nook and cranny of the woods lying to their left.

"He's not too far from us..."

His eyes opened suddenly because of a scream from somewhere near. He was lying on his back, arms and legs sprawled on the ground. As his eyes adjusted from being closed for who knows how long, he looked around slowly. From what he could see, the sky had a reddish glow, the clouds were red as blood.. the hell was going on? After a while, he decided it was safe to move. Nothing had jumped out to eat him yet. Moving one arm toward his head, what he saw when his hand passed over his face took a while to register in his head. What he saw was a big, big, clawed hand.. his hand froze in mid-air while he was figuring out that that was his hand.

He jumped up, surprised about how agile he was all of a sudden.. agile and aware. Again, he looked at his hands, those huge, clawed hands that were connected to muscular, log-like and furry arms. Suddenly he had a thought; if his arms looked like that.. how was the rest of him? It'd hardly be the regular human body he was so accustomed to. Summoning up the courage to look at the rest of his body, he bit his lip only to feel a sharp sting where he bit, running his fingers over his teeth revealed sharp fangs, letting out a curse he closed his eyes and took a deep breath and looked down. Surpressing a gasp, he ran his new hands over a broad chest, muscled stomach and strong, muscular legs, noting that his sides, back and legs were fully covered in thick fur. Accepting these changes to his body, he put his hands on his head, pondering how this could've happened.. why the sudden change, his hands grabbed horns.. a long one on his forehead and two small stubs close to the large one. Great.. he had horns.. and thick, long hair. Suddenly he felt something touch his legs, looking behind he saw a tail swinging back and forth. Just staring at it for a moment, he suddenly grinned.

"I had always wondered what it'd be like to have a tail.. guess I know now," he thought to himself.

Finally remembering what had awaken him, he looked toward where the shouting had come from. Rushing towards the location he came to a dead stop the moment he saw two females conversing, instinctively jumping into cover, he figured he was out of visual range from the two further down. However he still hadn't realised that he was close to seven feet in height and was quite largely built, he didn't know that and though he was out of sight, his horn poking out from the bush he was "hiding" in.

Suddenly one of the females stepped out and faced where he was hiding, brandishing a sword. She shouted a challenge for him to step out of hiding. How did she know where he was..? At least he understood her..

Stepping up from his "hiding place", he then realised how he'd been spotted, he was a bit too large for the bush he hid in, another thing to get used too.. walking calmly but purposefully towards the two ladies, he raised his hands to show he didn't mean harm.. although he looked quite menacing.

"I'm sorry if I frightened you, I didn't mean to do so.. can you tell me where this is, though?" he asked in a dim voice.

Hikaru immediately held up her sword the moment she saw the monster come out, but lowered it out of shock that it just talked... She was too used to monsters just being creatures made from fear. But then she remembered where she was, so she perked up. Her sword sucked back into her gloved hand and she walked over to the large furry creature, or whatever he was.

"Um, hi. Might I ask who you are? Were you originally a...ahem, monster, or is this a new look?"

Aruka looked at Hikaru walking so easily over to the monster, and she suddenly felt a pang of worry and anger. She put her small fists to her side and said,

"Hikaru, are you sure you can just walk so easily to some stranger?"

Then she blinked, and all those feelings were gone. Why would she talk like that to Hikaru-chan? She stood there a bit confused, then walked over next to Hikaru, as it seems the red-haired girl hadn't heard her anyways.

He felt more relaxed when he saw the female lower her sword, he stopped two sword lengths away from her, just to make sure he wouldn't get cut.. when she started walking closer, he tensed up slightly but made to sure to keep his face passive.

She asked him who he was.. ironic, he wasn't quite sure, not with his new appearance.

"If my whole life hasn't just been a dream.. or a nightmare, I was originally a human.. so I'm guessing this is a new look. Who am I? Well.. since I do not look like who I used to be, then I'm not sure about who I am. Which would mean I need a new name.. any ideas?" he asked the woman, his red eyes staring into hers.

He stood in front of her, his arms crossed and awaited her reply as the other female, the smaller one, came to them.

"Burning...Hot...Seriously make it stop!" Misoka muttered sleepily, waves of heat resonating throughout her body. "Onii-chan, put the fire out" she said drowsily turning in her sleep "Onii-chan!" her eyes slowly began to open at the sound of her own voice 'humans?' she thought to herself sitting up. She stared around at her surroundings through half opened eyes "A dream" she muttered, ears perking once again at the voice. She sat up expecting to see some lost human in the woods. A small body greeted her 'Its carrying me' she thought eyes opening wide at the body below. Her eyes looked looked up to see only a tangled mess of brown-red hair and the blue sky above. "Wh-" She shook her head saying "What a dream" . Before long she was standing on newly formed feet staring into a nearby pond, in it she saw a human girl relatively short, probably a mere kit, wearing an over-sized red kimono. The only noticible difference being the two fox ears poking out of her head and the large fluffy tail that swayed side to side gently. Misoka laughed to herself as she prepared to dip her head in the water "Time to wake up" she said, dunking her head and lifting it once again 'nothing' she thought 'one more time' her head was submerged once again 'still nothing' her body shivered at the cold water 'cold' her eyes went wide "Wh- what is going on!" she shouted as tears welled in her eyes "Onii-chan!"

Aruka hesitated to follow Hikaru, still feeling uneasy conversing with a "monster".

'What's going on? A few minutes ago I was just going to a picnic, now I transformed into a child- and what the hell is up with the monster!'

The words spun in her head repeatedly, series of questions and queries filling her mind. Her eyes peered over the monster with an examined look from head to foot. Aruka couldn't believe her eyes- she couldn't even believe what she was hearing.

"If you're a former human... then you're probably not from here either."

She muttered, shyly glancing at the huge creature before them.

His glance shot over to the smaller female at the sound of her voice, listening to her question with a passive look on his face. He could understand why she'd be frightened or curious, he felt hints of both feelings.

"I highly doubt I'm from here, I don't even know where 'here' is.." he said, letting his arms fall down by his sides.

Suddenly, painfully, he realised that he was.. well, naked. As naked as a furry beast could be. That didn't matter, he needed something to cover himself up with, to refrain from embarassing himself further.

"Erhm.. excuse me, miss. But would you happen to have a blanket or something similiar? I feel very.. exposed."

Aruka shuffled on the hooded cape she wore. She timidly walked over the nameless 'monster', reaching her hand up with blue cloth.

"I suppose this could help, mister..."

Her eyes were wide and bright, as she stared at the horns in his head. Aruka heard stories of demons and monsters having huge bull like horns, and quite often, they were the bad guys. As she handed over the hood, she nearly shrieked when the creatures pointed fingers poke her little hand. Her face turned pale and eyes almost watery, she asked:

"You're not a bad monster, are you..?"

Though it had seemed so easy when she thought she was dreaming walking was pretty difficult "How do humans put up with this" Shouted an angry Misoka as she made uneasy steps along the rivers edge.

Her hair dripped with icy water falling down to her newly acquired light purple kimono. Her legs ached from falling so many times and she had no clue where she was headed so...all in all it seemed like a pretty bad day or perhaps a punishment from the gods themselves, however Misoka's heart simply told her that it was some illusion created by her brother, or perhaps some terrible dream she couldnt get out of.

"Okay, all I have to do is...." she muttered to herself, her teeth digging deep into her lips as she pondered a possible escape. "All I have to do is...Find a red flower!" she spoke with a sudden burst of confidence "It can break this illusion Onii-chan casted on me and then ill make him pay" that final statement sent an evil grin across her face.

Misoka's ears perked up "Voices?" she muttered to herself falling to her hands and knees on purpose this time and quickly scurryiing into a large bush. Humans had never been Misoka's strong point her older brother had always protected her from them so the only real contact they had made was the few times she had put illusions on children to get them lost in the woods and perhaps a few hunters that she had easily escaped from. Her heart ached at the sudden thought of her brothers protection and she muttered "Onii-chan..."

Hikaru pondered for a few moments as Aruka and the monster conversed, intent on giving him a name. Then, an idea popped into her head. Her eyes brightened and sparkled as she announced her brilliant thought.

"I know! Let's call you Hikari ♥!"

It was obvious that Hikaru had no originality whatsoever, as her dog back at home was named Hikari, and she had, during her first mission in Cephiro, befriended an animal... and named him Hikari too. Nevertheless, Hikaru was proud of herself for thinking up something, and was easily showing it with her cute grin.

But once again her thoughts were interrupted by the presence of another, and Hikaru's senses immediately warned her of a potential enemy. Her face contorted into a stern, alert expression, and her sword once again was projected and materialized into her hands. She wasn't exactly sure where Misoka was, but she made up for it by pivoting every which way, making sure she didn't miss an angle.

"Aruka, can you feel it? There's someone else now..."
