[ARC] Server Move Info

Minna-san,

Since not every ARC members have access on AIM, nor Vajra, I decided to post his Status Message regarding the move. And so I qoute~

Most of the Database errors have been corrected so hopefully we won't have to worry about much more. I have to optimize the new server database and features. So most of Tuesday there will be scheduled server restarts at 12 Noon EST, 2 PM EST, and 4 PM EST. I have to speed up the server alot and add tons of new features. So hopefully this will be tons better for us. Warning at high server load I default that we get the White Page of Death. So don't be shocked if you see it.

I'm glad it's finally working for you. I know that it was giving you a problem for a while. Server changes are always unlucky for the forums.

Well the reason it pissed me off was I paid a shit load and it wasn't behaving properly. It's still lagging and this effing thing it built with 2 Quad Core Pentium Xeon Processors that are hyper-threaded so that it acts like there are 8 processors. Which means I either have to upgrade the RAM with the Harddrive or something. Back to maintaining a server again. T_T Gawd I wish I had someone with tons of server knowledge. More then me.

For Windows Users having trouble viewing the site please do the following.

Start > Run > Command Prompt

Quote:

type "ipconfig /displaydns"

Make sure you see the following for "A (Host) Record" for ARC. "208.73.37.210"
If you receive "CNAME: www.anime-roleplay.com" then do the following to correct this problem.

type "ipconfig /flushdns"

The problem will have been corrected.

What we did was released the default domain nameserver timeout information and started with a clean slate. This doesn't effect cookies or your normal cache. Just your dns settings.

Note: Vista users "right click" on the Command Prompt and use "Run As Administrator". This is to get around the required elevations you will need to run the Command Prompt with full access.
