I feel that this thread is somewhat mandatory as this is the series which brought a lot of us together in the first place.

As for the recent anime, I have found Naruto Shippuuden annoyingly slow, though the animation has improved since the series before IMO. I still prefer the manga over the anime, though its good to see things animated, especially when its the fight scenes. I haven't watched the past few episodes though... where is it up to now?

I think Kishi favours Sasuke really. >_> I want to see Naruto kick some butt, seriously! DX Or Itachi utterly defeat Sasuke. That's the main reason I keep reading - lots of Itachi atm. 8D

It's a nice dream. But we see the prodigy of the Uchiha to be Uchiha Sasuke and not Uchiha Itachi. Plus this whole...Madara still alive stuff doesn't sit well with me. That would make him like well dirt old.

Am I the only one that thinks that Sharingan vs Sharingan battles are actually really boring for the reader? It's kinda bad writing too, Kishimoto basically says "omg look at this! this'll fuck your mind up!" and then moments later "Just kidding, lulz".

Although he does that a lot, along with most other shounen where someone just-so-happens to pull some powerful technique or power out of nowhere to defeat the enemy rather than an interesting twist or something that makes you go "Oh snap, that was clever!"

I would be more impressed to see how Madara is doing with Naruto. Cause that's a battle I endorse.

Madara being alive... that one threw me off. It made me go "WTF?! ~~button~~" Makes me wonder what the point of that was, though it does explains Itachi's motives.

As for Sharingan vs Sharingan, I must agree - it is pretty boring. But still, I'm only reading it for Itachi since you rarely get to see him in the story and usually know him as the character Sasuke is always angsty over. I honestly thought there would be more to it since this is the long awaited battle Sasuke has wanted. It feels like Kishi has run low on ideas and dragging on the series any way that he can. Though maybe that's just me.

Yeah, I'm only really reading it just to find out what the frick happens.

I wish Kishimoto would explain more. Like how Sasuke overcame the Tsukiyomi, instead of "Your jutsu doesn't work because I hate you very much", which seems like the way Kishimoto is going. Sasuke's 3 tamoe is stronger than Itachi's Mangekyou... simple as that. No twist, no "Oh wow!"... nothing.

I've said it before though, this series has been going down hill since episode 19.

Prolly b'coz alot of fangirls are squealing outside Kishi's office. Of course, there's less probability that writers nowadays would write about good stuffs for their works (money matters); they'd do what most ppl want (specially the squealing, annoying fans), just an opinion.
